07:59 AM EDT, 03/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Canada will publish producer price data for February at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, noted Bank of Montreal (BMO).
Earlier this week financial markets saw consumer prices come in hotter than expected last month, underscoring the Bank of Canada's cautious view, said BMO.
Investors will hear from Governor Tiff Macklem on Thursday who will address recent developments in the Canadian economy, pointed out the bank. Remarks will be available on the BoC website at 12:50 p.m. ET.
Investors will also get January's household credit data. Residential mortgage loans have been slowly rising, topping 4% year over year in December -- the first time since June 2023.
Manitoba's provincial budget will be presented later Thursday, added the bank.
The Globe and Mail is reporting that Prime Minister Mark Carney will call a federal election on April 28, according to BMO.
