07:43 AM EDT, 05/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Canada is set to release the April industrial product prices (IPPI) and raw material prices (RMPI) at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday, said Bank of Montreal (BMO).
The bank is looking for April's IPPI to fall compared with a month ago. That would mark the first monthly decline since last September. Meanwhile, RMPI is likely to decline for the second straight month.
G7 finance ministers and central bank heads wrap up their meetings in Banff on Thursday. Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne and Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem are expected to hold a press conference later Thursday, stated BMO.
Champagne held a number of bilateral meetings, including with United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, added the bank. Following the talks, the Canadian finance minister noted: "We had a very good day of discussions, a very good engagement."
