BMO Says Canadian Dollar Is Steady Early Wednesday

07:42 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Canadian dollar (CAD or loonie) is steady at C$1.395 (US$0.717) after Tuesday's meeting between Prime Minister Mark Carney and United States President Donald Trump ended without tariff relief, though high-level talks continue with hopes of reducing some sectoral duties, notably on steel and aluminum, said Bank of Montreal (BMO).
