07:35 AM EST, 11/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing's ( BA ) 737-400 jet used as a cargo plane for DHL crashed early Monday near Vilnius Airport in Lithuania, DHL said Monday.
One person was killed, according to media reports.
DHL said the aircraft, which was operated by Swift Air under contract for DHL, came from Leipzig, Germany and was bound for Vilnius Airport in Lithuania. The aircraft made a forced landing about one kilometer from Vilnius Airport at around 4:30 am CET, DHL said.
"The cause of the accident is still unknown and an investigation is already underway," DHL added.
There were three other individuals on board the flight, including the pilot, who survived the crash and no one on the ground was hurt, reports said.
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
