07:39 AM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing's ( BA ) emergency power system on some of its 787 jets used by Air India is under scrutiny following an unexpected deployment during a flight earlier this month, multiple media outlets reported Monday, citing the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

The regulator has ordered Air India to reinspect the system as well as asked Boeing ( BA ) to provide a report explaining the measures that can be adopted to prevent the deployment of the Ram Air Turbine system, the reports said.

Boeing ( BA ) referred MT Newswires to Air India for comment.

Air India and the regulator did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Boeing's ( BA ) shares were over 1% higher in recent Monday premarket activity.
