05:57 PM EDT, 07/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Tuesday it has built the second core rocket stage to propel NASA's crewed Artemis II lunar mission, which is scheduled to be launched next year.
The aerospace company said the rocket stage, built at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility, will transported to NASA's Kennedy Space Center via the Pegasus barge. It will then be integrated with the other Artemis II components and NASA's Orion spacecraft.
The core stage measures over 200 feet tall and is powered by four RS-25 engines and two solid-fueled booster rockets, Boeing ( BA ) said.
Terms of the deal with NASA weren't disclosed.
