Boeing CEO Cancels Trip to Paris Airshow in Wake of Air India Incident, GE Aerospace Postpones Investor Day
Jun 13, 2025 8:35 AM

11:23 AM EDT, 06/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg is cancelling his trip to the Paris Airshow next week after an Air India 787 Dreamliner flight bound to London crashed in Ahmedabad, India, on Thursday, multiple media outlets reported, citing a message from Ortberg to company staff.

Ortberg and Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope were due to travel to Paris for the airshow but cancelled their plans so they could be with the team and focus on the Air India incident probe, reports said, citing Ortberg.

GE Aerospace (GE) also postponed its investor day set for Tuesday and will gather a team to travel to India and analyze the data from the crashed airplane, reports said, citing the aircraft engine manufacturer. The crashed Air India flight was equipped with GE Aerospace engines, according to reports.

Neither Boeing ( BA ) nor GE Aerospace immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Boeing's ( BA ) stock was down 2% in recent Friday trading, while GE Aerospace's stock was 1.1% lower.
