05:23 AM EDT, 06/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) told the US Department of Justice that it did not violate a deferred prosecution agreement, or DPA, related to the fatal 737 MAX crashes, Reuters reported late Wednesday, citing an unnamed source familiar with the matter.
This follows a May determination by the Justice Department that Boeing ( BA ) breached the 2021 DPA, which protected it from criminal charges over the 2018 and 2019 crashes that killed 346 people, according to the report.
"We'll decline to comment on any specific communications with the Justice Department, however, we continue to engage transparently with the Department, as we have throughout the term of the agreement," a Boeing ( BA ) spokesperson told Reuters.
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
