Boeing, DOJ Reportedly Tell Court They Have Not Agreed on Revised Plea Deal Yet
Jan 6, 2025 4:38 AM

07:28 AM EST, 01/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and the US Justice Department informed a court on Friday they have yet to finalize a revised plea agreement after a federal judge rejected an original proposal in December, multiple media outlets reported, citing a court filing.

The DOJ and Boeing ( BA ) said they are continuing to negotiate in good faith and requested until Feb. 16 to provide an update on the status of the discussions, the media outlets reported.

The original plea deal, tied to two fatal 737 MAX aircraft crashes in 2018 and 2019, was blocked by Judge Reed O'Connor, who raised concerns over a diversity provision in the selection of an independent compliance monitor, according to the reports.

Boeing ( BA ) and the DOJ did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
