Boeing Fails to Share Employee Names, Work Documents With US Accident Investigators, NTSB Chair Says
Mar 6, 2024 1:42 PM

04:26 PM EST, 03/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) failed to provide information to investigators looking into the Jan. 5 Alaska Airlines incident, including names of employees and factory work-related documents, National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy told the Senate Commerce Committee during a hearing.

Homendy said the company has not given the names of 25 employees that the board believes worked on a door plug that blew out on an aircraft during an Alaska Airlines flight on Jan. 5.

The door plug was removed and reinstalled in mid-September but the company did not turn over related work documents and certain documents might not exist, Homendy added.

US Senator Maria Cantwell sent a letter to Boeing ( BA ) Chief Executive Dave Calhoun with a demand to "provide this investigative information to the NTSB within the next 48 hours," according to the Senate Commerce Committee.

"We have now provided the full list of individuals on the 737 door team, in response to a recent request. With respect to documentation, if the door plug removal was undocumented there would be no documentation to share," a Boeing ( BA ) spokesperson said in an email to MT Newswires.
