07:55 AM EDT, 07/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Wednesday that Robert Ortberg has been named to succeed Dave Calhoun as the company's president and chief executive officer, effective Aug. 8.

Ortberg, 64, has 35 years of experience in aerospace, having served as president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, board member of RTX and Aptiv PLC, and former chair of the Aerospace Industries Association Board of Governors, the company said.

Boeing ( BA ) shares were 3.7% higher in premarket trading.
