Boeing Receives 14 777 Plane Orders as Part of China Airlines $11.9 Billion Fleet Renewal

07:04 AM EST, 12/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) will receive orders for 10 777-9 aircraft and four 777-8 freighters as part of an $11.9 billion long-haul fleet renewal by Taiwan's China Airlines, news outlets reported Thursday.

The airline is also ordering 10 A350-1000s from Boeing's ( BA ) rival Airbus as part of the deal, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the publicly listed carrier, Taiwan's largest.

The planes are set to begin arriving in 2029, the report said,

The 777-9s will be powered by GE (GE) engines, Reuters reported.

China Airlines did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
