06:58 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has agreed to sell its Digital Receiver Technology subsidiary to defense electronics company Thales Defense & Security, multiple media outlets reported Sunday, citing the jet maker.
The unit manufactures wireless surveillance equipment for the US military.
Boeing ( BA ) is exploring options to sell its noncore or underperforming subsidiaries to raise cash, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
"We recognize that Digital Receiver Technology (DRT), complements the capabilities of Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) and we look forward to opportunities to work together," a Boeing ( BA ) spokesperson told MT Newswires in an email.
Thales did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Boeing's ( BA ) shares rose nearly 4% in recent Monday premarket activity.
