04:16 AM EDT, 03/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Monday the US Federal Aviation Administration approved an increased maximum takeoff weight for its 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners.

The change will give the plane maker's airline customers the option to carry more payload or fly longer routes.

The first aircraft built with the capability are now progressing through ticketing and delivery activities, according to the company.
