01:37 PM EDT, 08/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Spirit AeroSystems Holdings ( SPR ) officials are scheduled to appear at the National Transportation Safety Board's investigative hearing Tuesday on the Boeing 737-9 Max door-plug incident, the NTSB said Monday.
Boeing's ( BA ) vice president of quality Elizabeth Lund, and vice president of supplier quality Doug Ackerman, and Spirit's general manager for Boeing ( BA ) program Terry George, and senior director for 737 quality Scott Grabon will testify at the hearing. Several Federal Aviation Administration officials are also slated to testify, the NTSB said.
The two-day hearing will look into the blowout of a left mid exit door plug on Alaska Airlines (ALK) flight mid-air in January, according to the NTSB.
Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) spokesperson Joe Buccino told MT Newswires that the company is committed to cooperate in the investigation. "Tomorrow's hearing is part of that process," Buccino said.
FAA referred MT Newswires to NTSB on the matter.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
