Orders for the September quarter came in at 159, accelerating from 25 in the second quarter but sharply down from 321 in the same period last year.
The company has delivered 291 commercial airplanes as of Sept. 30.
Boeing ( BA ) is scheduled to report third-quarter financial results on Oct. 23. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ are forecasting revenue of $18.52 billion for the period, which implies an improvement from $18.1 billion it reported for the same period a year ago.
