Boeing Third-Quarter Deliveries Rise, Orders Drop Annually
Oct 14, 2025 12:52 PM

03:18 PM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) on Tuesday posted a year-over-year gain in third-quarter deliveries, led by the 737 Max jet, while orders fell.

The plane maker delivered 160 aircraft in the September quarter, compared with 116 a year earlier and 150 in the prior quarter. The latest deliveries included 119 737 Max planes, according to data on the company's website.

In September alone, the company delivered 55 aircraft, up from 33 a year earlier, but down from 57 the previous month. Its European rival, Airbus, delivered 73 jets last month.

Boeing ( BA ) booked 153 gross orders in the third quarter, down from 159 a year earlier and 427 in the June quarter, the data showed. Orders booked in September totaled 96, compared with 65 a year earlier and 26 in August. Airbus booked 10 orders last month.

Boeing ( BA ) shares were up 0.2% in Tuesday late-afternoon trade. The stock has gained 22% so far this year.

In the first nine months of the year, Boeing ( BA ) has delivered 440 jets, compared with 291 in the same period last year, though it is trailing Airbus' year-to-date tally of 507 planes.

Last month, the US Federal Aviation Administration allowed Boeing ( BA ) to resume issuing airworthiness certificates for some of its 737 Max and 787 jets. Such authority was revoked for 737 Max in 2019 following two crashes and for 787 in 2022 amid production issues.

Last week, Bloomberg News reported that Boeing ( BA ) was planning to increase 737 monthly output to 42 from 38 as soon as this month.

The European Commission said Tuesday it approved Boeing's ( BA ) proposed acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) , subject to full compliance with the commitments offered by the companies. Last year, Boeing ( BA ) agreed to acquire Spirit in a roughly $8.3 billion deal that would reverse the companies' 2005 separation.

Separately, Boeing ( BA ) said Tuesday it received multiyear contracts valued at about $2.7 billion to produce additional Patriot Advanced Capability-3 seekers.

The company is scheduled to report third-quarter financial results Oct. 29.
