Boeing Urged by Union Leaders, Lawmakers to Reach Contract Deal With Firefighters

06:43 AM EDT, 05/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has been urged by union leaders and US lawmakers to negotiate a contract deal with 130 members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local I-66 who were locked out by the company earlier this month after they rejected two contract proposals, multiple media outlets reported Monday.

IAFF President Edward Kelly, American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations President Liz Shuler, and Representative Val Hoyle participated at a rally held outside Boeing's ( BA ) headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, calling on the planemaker to come to an agreement with the union.

Last week, President Joe Biden also voiced a concern over Boeing's ( BA ) action.
