09:55 AM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Monday it completed the aerospace industry's first shipment of aircraft parts accompanied by a digital 8130-3 certificate in partnership with Southwest Airlines ( LUV ) and Aeroxchange.
The aircraft manufacturer said the certificate, an electronic version of the US Federal Aviation Administration's 8130-3 form, certifies the airworthiness of aircraft parts and replaces paper documents with encrypted digital files that verify authenticity.
The shipment involved a repaired battery sent from Boeing's ( BA ) facility in Davie, Florida, to Southwest Airlines ( LUV ) in Dallas using Aeroxchange's electronic Aircraft Records & Certification, eARC, platform, Boeing ( BA ) said.
The company said it plans to introduce the digital 8130 certificate at its nine product repair centers once it receives FAA approval for electronic recordkeeping.
Boeing ( BA ) shares were up 1.6% in recent Monday trading, while Southwest Airlines ( LUV ) stock rose 1.8%.
