05:46 AM EDT, 08/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has been awarded a $2.56 billion contract from the US Air Force for the delivery of two rapid prototype E-7A AEW&C Wedgetail aircraft, the parties said in separate statements Friday.

The agreement includes lifecycle development, training and support for the E-7A fleet of the US Air Force, Boeing ( BA ) said.

"The two operationally representative prototype aircraft are planned to be delivered in FY28," the US Air Force said.
