04:45 PM EDT, 04/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) is now cooperating fully with the National Transportation Safety Board probe into the door plug incident on one of its aircraft in January, NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy said on Wednesday during a US Senate hearing.
Homendy previously told senators her agency was unable to obtain all of the records that normally would have been created when Boeing ( BA ) removed and later returned the door plug on the 737 jet operated by Alaska Air Lines (ALK).
"They are working very well with us," Homendy said during a US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing on her reappointment as NTSB chair. "They have provided us with all of the documents that we have asked for that exist."
Homendy said the agency is back this week in Renton, Washington, where Boeing ( BA ) assembles its 737 jets, to again interview employees. While they have not found the video records or documentation for work on the door plug on the Alaska Air ( ALK ) jet, she believes investigators should be able to gather enough information to determine what likely happened during the Jan. 5 incident by examining similar work by the company on other 737 jets.
"We are looking at other instances where a door plug was opened and closed to make sure that those records are available," Homendy said Wednesday. "We are all working together to understand what happened and to rectify the situation."
Boeing ( BA ) declined to comment to MT Newswires.
