12:42 PM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has received approval from the European Commission for its acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) , subject to conditions to protect competition in aerostructures and commercial aircraft markets, the Commission said Tuesday.

The planemaker offered to divest Spirit's Airbus-supplying units to Airbus and Spirit's Malaysian site to Composites Technology Research Malaysia to address the Commission's initial concerns that the merger would limit aerostructure supplies to rivals, especially Airbus, and provide access to sensitive commercial data relating to Airbus, the Commission said.

The Commission approved both buyers and concluded the deal "would no longer raise competition concerns" based on Boeing's ( BA ) commitments.
