03:15 PM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Thursday that its Starliner capsule successfully docked with the International Space Station about 26 hours after launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams will join seven others currently living on the station and are due to return on the same capsule after spending about a week in orbit, Boeing ( BA ) said.
Starliner was scheduled to dock at 12:15 pm ET on Thursday but Boeing ( BA ) and NASA needed to address failed thrusters on the spacecraft, which pushed back the arrival time, media reports said. A second docking opportunity opened between 1:33 pm and 2:19 pm, CNN earlier reported.
This is the first crewed mission for the Starliner to the ISS after a successful unmanned test mission in 2022.
