10:19 AM EDT, 08/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Boeing ( BA ) -built X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle was launched on Friday on its eighth mission on board a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Boeing ( BA ) said.

The mission includes a Boeing ( BA ) integrated service module to boost payload capacity for experiments on orbit, the company said.

The vehicle is also hosting several technology demonstrations from government partners on the current mission, including laser communications and a quantum inertial sensor designed to support navigation when GPS is unavailable, Boeing ( BA ) said.

Boeing ( BA ) shares were 2.8% higher in recent trading.
