08:04 AM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boralex ( BRLXF ) said Wednesday that its equally owned Apuiat wind farm joint venture with the Innu communities in Quebec has reached commercial operation.
The 200 MW facility is the first national energy project by the Innu communities and the first wind farm to be built in Quebec's Cote-Nord region, Boralex ( BRLXF ) said.
The electricity generated by the facility is sold to Hydro-Quebec under a 30-year power purchase agreement, the company added.
"For us, the Apuiat project is a model of partnership and business that truly reflects our core values," Boralex ( BRLXF ) president and chief executive officer Patrick Decostre said. "Its commissioning represents much more than a milestone in the execution of Boralex's ( BRLXF ) strategic plan and growth trajectory -- it's a tangible example of shared value creation."
Boralex ( BRLXF ) said an official inauguration of the wind farm is planned for spring 2026.
The company's share price closed 1.9% higher on Tuesday to $28.57 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
