BP Starts Oil Production at Murlach Project in the UK North Sea

07:06 AM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP) said Thursday that it started oil production at its Murlach project in the UK North Sea.

This marks the oil major's sixth startup this year, in line with its strategy to grow its upstream business.

The six projects will add the equivalent of 150,000 barrels a day at peak production, with Murlach contributing 15,000 of those barrels, the company said.
