BP Wins Arbitration Case Against Venture Global
Oct 10, 2025 3:19 AM

06:13 AM EDT, 10/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP) has won a case it pursued against Venture Global ( VG ) related to LNG sales from the Calcasieu Project in Louisiana, according to a regulatory filing dated Thursday.

The International Chamber of Commerce's International Court of Arbitration informed the company on Wednesday that a partial final award has been issued in favor of BP, which is seeking damages of more than $1 billion, as well as interest, costs and attorneys' fees, Venture Global ( VG ) said in the regulatory filing.

The award found that the company's indirect Venture Global Calcasieu Pass subsidiary "breached its obligations" to declare its commercial operation date in a timely manner and to act as a "reasonable and prudent operator," the filing said.

Financial damages will be determined at a separate hearing expected to take place next year and a final award is expected to follow, the filing said.

Venture Global ( VG ) said it was "disappointed" by the decision and is evaluating its options.

Venture Global ( VG ) shares were down 17.7% in Friday's premarket activity.
