Braemar Hotels & Resorts Postpones Annual Meeting Over Blackwells Lawsuit
Apr 23, 2024 10:42 AM

01:10 PM EDT, 04/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Braemar Hotels & Resorts ( BHR ) said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that it has postponed its annual shareholders meeting from May 15 to July 30.

The real estate investment trust said it is pushing back the meeting as it is currently suing activist investor Blackwells Capital, and that the case is currently stayed. Braemar claims that Blackwells' bid to nominate four director candidates to the company's board is not valid.

Braemar's shares were 10.5% higher in recent trading.
