BRASILIA/SAO PAULO, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Brazil's foreign
relations ministry said on Wednesday it was surprised by the
U.S. State Department's criticism of the Brazilian Supreme
Court, adding it rejects any attempt to politicize judicial
rulings.
Earlier in the day, the U.S. State Department Bureau of
Western Hemisphere Affairs posted on X that "respect for
sovereignty is a two-way street with all U.S. partners,
including Brazil". The post also noted that blocking access to
information was incompatible with democratic values.
The U.S. State Department did not mention any specific
decision, but its statement comes after Brazil's Supreme Court
ordered the suspension of U.S. video-sharing Rumble in
the Latin American nation last week due to lack of compliance
with court orders.
