Brazilian miner Vale picks CFO Pimenta as next CEO
Aug 29, 2024 2:23 AM

SAO PAULO, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Brazilian miner Vale

announced that current Chief Financial Officer Gustavo Pimenta

will become its next Chief Executive Officer, according to a

securities filing on Monday.

Vale said Pimenta, who will replace current CEO Eduardo

Bartolomeo, was elected by the board unanimously, adding the

transition will follow a schedule the firm had already released.

Vale has been dealing for months with the turbulent and

politically charged process of choosing its next CEO, which it

was only expected to conclude later in the year.
