09:26 AM EDT, 04/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bristow Group ( VTOL ) said Tuesday it partnered with Electra, Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority to launch a testing program for low-emission aviation in Norway.
The testing program will use Electra's hybrid-electric nine-passenger aircraft, designed to take off and land in spaces as small as 50 meters, the company said.
Demonstration flights will evaluate integrating the vehicles at existing short runways alongside unconventional access points like parking lots or fields, Bristow Group ( VTOL ) said.
The evaluations aim to gather operational and regulatory data regarding emission reductions and the scalability of regional air mobility networks, and specific testing locations will be finalized over the next six months with flights targeted to begin in mid-2027, the company added.
