Broadcom Introduces New Optical Interconnect Solutions for AI, Machine Learning

10:34 AM EDT, 03/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Broadcom ( AVGO ) announced Wednesday it expanded its portfolio of optical interconnect solutions for artificial-intelligence and machine-learning applications.

The company announced the production release of a 200 gigabit per second per lane electro-absorption modulated laser for graphics processing units. It also plans a demonstration of a 200 gigabit per lane vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser and a high-efficiency, high-linearity continuous wave laser at 200 gigabits for silicon photonics modulation.

The company also said it's shipping 20 million channels of 100 gigabits per lane high-speed optical components for AI and machine-learning systems.

Broadcom ( AVGO ) will present the offerings at an exhibition March 26- 28 in San Diego.
