08:50 AM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Broadcom ( AVGO ) said Tuesday it introduced new Wi-Fi 8 silicon products for the broadband wireless edge ecosystem to address the efficiency demands of artificial intelligence-era edge networks.
The company said the portfolio includes products designed for residential and operator access applications, for enterprise access applications, and for edge wireless clients such as smartphones and laptops.
Broadcom ( AVGO ) said the Wi-Fi 8 IP is now available for licensing for Internet of Things, automotive and mobile devices.
Also on Tuesday, Reuters reported that the company is launching a new networking chip called "Thor Ultra" that will string together hundreds of thousands of chips that process data to help companies create AI computing systems.
Part of Broadcom's ( AVGO ) expanding networking chip portfolio, Thor Ultra links an AI system and the rest of the data center, according to the report.
Broadcom ( AVGO ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires on the Reuters report.
