08:55 AM EST, 12/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) said Friday that it set a new meeting date of Jan. 27 for its upcoming special shareholders' meeting to vote on a previously announced arrangement to change the company's corporate structure.

At the meeting, shareholders will be asked to approve the arrangement and a special resolution increasing the number of company directors to 14 from 12.

The board unanimously recommends that shareholders vote in favor of the arrangement.

If the resolution is approved, Brookfield plans to obtain a final order from the Supreme Court of British Columbia approving the arrangement on Jan. 30.
