07:09 AM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) said Wednesday it intends to invest up to 95 billion Swedish kronor ($9.91 billion) to construct an artificial intelligence data center in Strangnas, Sweden.

The project will create over 1,000 permanent jobs and roughly 2,000 jobs during the 10-15 year construction phase.

"To compete in the development of AI and realize its economic productivity, it is important to invest at scale in the infrastructure underpinning this technology," Brookfield's Head of Europe Sikander Rashid said.
