07:45 AM EST, 11/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Business Partners ( BBU ) subsidiary Clarios said Tuesday it is advancing initiatives to expand battery recycling and critical mineral processing capacity under its $6 billion US investment plan.

The company said it plans to restart idled infrastructure at its Florence, South Carolina facility to increase recycling output and add mineral processing capability. Clarios is also in the site selection and engineering phase for a new US-based battery recycling and critical mineral processing facility. Additionally, Clarios said it will boost US available battery supply through artificial intelligence, automation, and capacity upgrades at its existing North American facilities in Mexico.

Clarios expects to add up to 400,000 million tons in additional recycling capacity through these initiatives. Additionally, the company will continue to evaluate acquisitions of existing recycling assets to support its plans.
