07:13 AM EST, 01/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Business Partners (BBU-UN.TO) on Friday said it swung to a fourth-quarter loss.
The net loss on the quarter of US$438 million, or US$2.02 per limited partnership (LP) unit, compares with a profit of US$1.42 billion, or US$6.57 for the previous year.
Brookfield reported a loss for the year ended Dec. 31 of $109 million, or $0.50 per LP unit, versus net income of US$1.4 billion, or US$6.49 per LP unit the year before.
The net loss included a non-cash expense for its healthcare services operation, and provisions for its construction operation. The prior year included net gains related to the sale of the nuclear technology services operation.
Brookfield will pay a quarterly distribution of $0.0625 per unit on March 31.
