Brookfield Renewable to Raise Equity Interest in Isagen
Jul 18, 2025 2:32 PM

05:00 PM EDT, 07/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Renewable Partners ( BEP ) said late Friday it plans to invest up to $1 billion to raise its equity stake in Isagen to about 38%.

As part of the transaction, the Qatar Investment Authority, an existing co-investor in Isagen, will invest about $500 million to increase its stake to around 15%.

The deal is expected to be immediately accretive to Brookfield Renewable's funds from operations per unit, and is projected to be about 2% accretive to 2026 FFO per unit, supported by strong cash flow visibility with roughly 70% of generation contracted for an average of eight years.

The transaction is expected to close in Q3, according to the company.
