Bunge (BG) said Friday in a regulatory filing that it has received approvals from Chinese and Mexican antitrust authorities for its $8.2 billion acquisition of Viterra.
Bunge said with these approvals, all regulatory conditions under the business combination agreement have been met and that the parties expect to finalize the acquisition on July 2, pending satisfaction of the remaining closing conditions.
China's State Administration for Market Regulation said the merged company must continue supplying soybeans, barley, and rapeseed to Chinese clients at fair market prices, reliably and in sufficient quantity, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing the regulator. Bunge will also be required to report monthly sales data to Chinese clients on a quarterly basis, with comparisons to 2021-2024 averages, the report said.
Bunge did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
