Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.43.
Revenue for the quarter ended May 3 was $2.50 billion, up from $2.36 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $2.53 billion.
The company said it expects fiscal Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.20 to $1.30 and 5% to 7% in sales growth. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $1.35 in adjusted EPS.
