08:31 AM EST, 01/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BWX Technologies ( BWXT ) said Monday it opened a manufacturing development site in Tennessee to help restore domestic uranium enrichment for national security needs.

The facility serves as a center for creating and testing gas centrifuge equipment, and the project is part of a $1.5 billion contract from the National Nuclear Security Administration to provide fuel for defense purposes, the company said.

The site currently employs about 100 professionals with plans to increase staff and shift centrifuge technology from the design phase into active manufacturing, BWX Technologies ( BWXT ) said.
