05:59 PM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cadence Design Systems ( CDNS ) said late Thursday it is working with the US Bureau of Industry and Security to clarify new export license requirements for certain electronic design automation software and technology.

In a regulatory filing, the company said it was notified on May 23 that a license is now required for the export, re-export, or in-country transfer of items classified under export control classification numbers 3D991 and 3E991 on the Commerce Control List when a party to the transaction is located in China or is a Chinese "military end user," regardless of location.

Cadence said the new requirements are complex and that it is assessing the potential impact on its business and financial results.
