Caleres Shares Drop After Fiscal Q2 Adjusted Earnings Miss Consensus

02:54 PM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Caleres ( CAL ) shares dropped more than 7% in recent Thursday trading after the company reported its fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings that fell short of analysts' consensus.

The company posted fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings of $0.35 per diluted share, down from $0.85 a year earlier.

Three analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.56.

Net sales for the quarter ended Aug. 2 were $658.5 million, down from $683.3 million a year earlier.

Three analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $656.5 million.

Caleres ( CAL ) said it will continue to suspend issuing annual guidance "given the uncertainty in the environment."
