Calian Wins Contract to Build Gateway Ground Stations for Geostationary Satellites
Nov 24, 2025 5:08 AM

07:31 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Calian Group ( CLNFF ) said Monday it has been awarded a contract by a space technology company to design and manufacture four gateway ground stations to support services for two geostationary satellites.

The company's ground station solutions support multiple orbits and all frequency bands used in modern satellite communication. The gateways link satellites to terrestrial networks, for high-capacity government communications across a wide geographical area that includes Africa, Europe, and Asia, a statement said.

"We are proud to support this important program, enabling secure and high-performance connectivity across three continents," said Chris Pogue, who heads defence and space. "This win demonstrates our position as world leaders in providing advanced ground satellite solutions and highlights the strength of Canadian engineering in delivering end-to-end ground infrastructure that meets the most demanding technical and mission-critical requirements."
