08:26 AM EDT, 08/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Calumet (CLMT) said Tuesday that a recent decision by the US Environmental Protection Agency on small refinery exemptions will reduce its 2019 to 2024 renewable identification number liability from 396 million to 89 million.
Of the remaining 89 million RINs obligation, 57 million are from 2022-2023, and 32 million are from 2024, the company said.
Chief Executive Todd Borgmann said the EPA actions "remove the majority of our historic RIN obligation."
"The decision provides additional clarity for the renewable fuels industry and brings us one step closer to a properly functioning renewables market," he said.
