Cameco Says Continuing Operations at Northern Saskatchewan Sites Despite Wildfires

06:26 AM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cameco ( CCJ ) said overnight Tuesday that it is continuing its operations at its northern Saskatchewan sites despite wildfires that are impacting parts of the province.

The company noted that there is no risk to its sites and they remain safe for staff, adding that there are currently no fires in the vicinity of its operations at Cigar Lake, Key Lake, McArthur River and Rabbit Lake.

The company also said that Orano's McClean Lake mill remains operational.

The company noted that it is managing some temporary disruptions due to the wildfires impacting power and communication services to its operations. Road closures have also impeded some deliveries to sites. Cameco ( CCJ ) said that it is taking measures to minimize the impact of the disruptions.

Cameco ( CCJ ) reiterated its annual production target despite the wildfires.
