07:31 AM EST, 12/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canacol Energy ( CNNEF ) on Friday provided an update on its operations in Colombia.
The company said the Pibe-1 exploration well was spud on Nov. 23, and reached a total depth of 11,000 feet measured depth (ft MD). The well encountered 1,044 feet true vertical depth (ft TVD) of gross gas column. Canacol has also spud the Pibe-2 appraisal from the existing Pibe-1 drilling platform and expects results within the next three weeks.
The Natilla-2 exploration well was spud on Nov. 2, and is targeting a large natural gas prospect with primary and secondary targets. The well has reached a depth of 13,631 ft MD where drilling difficulties were encountered. The current operation will change the configuration of the bottom hole assembly. Drilling to the main targets will resume within the next week.
Canacol also expects spudding the Clarinete-11 development well in the next two days with results expected by year end.
