Feb 25 (Reuters) - Canadian gold and silver miner
Fortuna Mining ( FSM ) said on Tuesday that a contracted
employee died at its Séguéla Mine in Côte d'Ivoire in West
Africa in an incident involving an exploding fire extinguisher.
The incident on Monday occurred while an employee of Mapa
Protection Incendie (MPI), a specialized service provider to the
mine contractor Mota Engil, was conducting a planned refilling
of fire extinguishers.
No one else was injured in the incident, and the necessary
government and local authorities have been notified, the company
said, while an investigation has been initiated into the
incident.
