Canadian National Railway Enters Three-Year Collective Agreement With Union After Arbitration Decision

01:44 PM EDT, 04/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) said Monday it has received a binding arbitration decision for a new collective agreement with Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, which represents around 6,000 of the company's employees.

The new three-year agreement is effective from Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2026, and includes an annual wage increase of 3%, the company said, adding that it replaces the previous agreement and does not require ratification.

Arbitrator William Kaplan delivered his ruling after six days of mediation, the company said.
