Canadian National Railway Q1 Earnings, Sales Decline; Reaffirms 2024 EPS Outlook

04:49 PM EDT, 04/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) reported Q1 earnings late Tuesday of CA$1.72 ($1.26) per diluted share, down from CA$1.82 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected CA$1.74.

Revenue for the quarter that ended March 31 was CA$4.25 billion, down from CA$4.31 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected CA$4.28 billion.

Reaffirming its 2024 outlook, the company said full-year diluted EPS will likely grow at about 10%. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect CA$8.

Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) said it continues to target compounded annual diluted EPS growth of 10% to 15% over the 2024 to 2026 period.
